DISCOVER WHITSTABLE’S TWO SECRET NATURE RESERVES

This May come and join our free guided walks at two of Whitstable ‘s least known but richest sites for wildlife.

On Friday May 2nd RSPB warden Sam Richardson will lead a walk at the 290 hectares Seasalter nature reserve.  If you travel by train to London, you will have seen these flooded fields. Sam will show some of the amazing birds and explain how the reserve was developed by partnership between local authorities, Natural England and RSPB.

Meet at the pumping station on Faversham Road at 09:30am.  Numbers will be limited to minimise disturbance to nesting birds, so it is essential to book in advance at Ct5eco@outlook.com There is car-parking along Faversham Road.

On Saturday May 17th local wildlife expert John Puckett will lead a walk at Wraik Hill.  Wraik Hill is a mix of rare grassland, scrub and ancient woodland and supports rich wildlife. Numbers will be limited so please book in advance at Ct5eco@outlook.com  Meet at 10:00am in the car park at the western end of Wraik Hill near the junction with Pilgrims Lane.

If travelling by car please try to car share. Both walks will involve walking over rough ground and you are advised to wear suitable footwear.
