As part of our project to help manage waste across the CT5 area we're delighted to be able to share news about the new Repair Café.

The next Whitstable Repair Café will take place on 10th January 2026, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, at the Umbrella Centre, Oxford Street, Whitstable. Members of Whitstable and District Soroptimist International Club www.sigbi.org/whitstable will once again host the Repair Café and look forward to welcoming all to another successful fix and repair session.

Repair Cafes are a global network of meeting places where broken items are repaired by volunteers, for a voluntary donation. Further details on this worldwide movement are available at www.repaircafe.org  It’s great to have the Repair Cafe back in Whitstable!

The talented team of repairers will be ready to repair a range of broken and torn items on 10th January including:

Small items of furniture, soft furnishings and household items

Kitchen gadgets

Tools and kitchen knife sharpening

Clothes, accessories, bags and shoes

Jewellery

Pottery and ceramics

Toys

The team is also hoping to have a bicycle repairer for small repairs on 10th January and an electrical repairer.  Further details will be on Facebook: Repair Cafe Whitstable and website www.sigbi.org/whitstable/repair-cafe

The team of volunteer repairers is still expanding.  If you would like to help, or have any other enquiry, please email whitstablerepaircafe2025@gmail.com
